Obama And Hillary Recruit Poll Workers For 2022 Election

kanekoa.substack.com

Former President Barack Obama and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton took to social media yesterday to recruit poll workers for the 2022 U.S. midterm election.

Both Democrats shared links to Power The Polls, a poll worker training organization “launched in June 2020 by a coalition of businesses and nonprofits” which recruited “over 700,000 prospective poll workers” during the 2020 election.

Obama posted on his Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram pages:

Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton are correct — signing up as a poll worker is one of the most effective ways you can get involved in serving our nation and improving our election system.

How Do You Become A Poll Worker?

First, find out if you are eligible based on the laws and statutes in your state.

Use the State Compendium of Election Worker Laws and Statutes to find out: https://www.eac.gov/sites/default/files/eac_assets/1/28/Compendium.2016.pdf

Simply scroll through the document until you get to your state’s page.

As you read through your state’s page, you’ll want to:

1. Find out if you must be a registered voter in the state.

2. Find out if there is an age requirement.

3. Find out if there is a residency requirement.

4. Find out if a political party affiliation is required.

Second, once you have looked at the eligibility rules, if you are eligible, go to the Help America Vote page and find the drop-down menu in the middle of the page: www.eac.gov/help-america-vote

It looks like this:

Use the drop-down menu to look up your state and it will give you instructions about how to actually apply to become a poll worker.

Some states are also divided by county, and another drop-down menu will pop up asking you for your county.

Once you’ve chosen required information, the information you need will pop up.

For instance, it will have contact information in case you have questions, hours and compensation, work requirements (such as whether or not you must have training), and further notes.

It may also have a button you can use to apply and to find out more information.

Important Note!

If you, a family member, or a friend would like to serve in this way, please sign up NOW!

Because many states and counties have a particular process that must be used, it takes a while to get it all done, and there is usually a deadline by which the poll workers must be chosen.

The sooner you get your application in, the more likely you will get it in on time to be chosen as a poll worker.

Pay attention to any deadlines listed when you are looking at the information, and get signed up today!

Poll workers set up and prepare the polling location, welcome voters, verify voting registrations, issue ballots, demonstrate how to use voting equipment, and explain the voting procedures to citizens on election day.

While becoming an election observer is great, becoming a poll worker is extremely more impactful and the majority of poll workers get paid.

NOW is the time to get off your butt and get involved in your local election!

To those of you asking “what can I do” — become a poll worker TODAY!

This is one of the most effective ways YOU can stop the theft of our elections and stand shoulder-to-shoulder with President Trump.

Could we please stop arguing about saving DEMOCRACY? Democracy’s meaning is essentially MOB RULE and was something the founding fathers DETESTED! They intended and entrusted us with a CONSTITUTIONAL REPUBLIC! We keep on parroting the word, DEMOCRACY and it’s wrong.

“And to the REPUBLIC for which it stands” we pledge allegiance to the flag

I'm standing with True the Vote to be a Poll Watcher but a Poll Worker might be better after reading this.
